language

We speak both English and Dutch. All group activities will be facilitated in English. You are welcome to request for your individual coaching session to be in Dutch though.

location & transport

The retreat venue where you will be staying is called the Shanti Space. The address is Quinta dos Lobos, Estr. da Tapada no 1360, 2665-418 Mafra, Portugal.

You will fly in through Lisbon Airport. The Quinta is located only a 30 minute drive north of the airport so it is really easy to get there.

Check-in time on Sunday 27 September is 5PM and check-out time on Friday 2 October is 11AM. We had planned to organize group transport, but as a result of the COVID-19 situation, we cannot offer this service since we won’t be able to keep the 1.5m distance. But don’t worry, it is really easy to take an Uber from the airport for an approximate € 30 or we can help you organize transport in advance. Just reach out!

Portugal is a really safe country to travel to. You won’t need any vaccinations.

As a EU/EEA/Swiss or Schengen Area citizen, you won’t need a visa and you can get into the country with just your passport. If you are from outside the EU, then you will need to buy a visa on arrival which is valid for 90 days . Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months and you will need a return ticket to show you leave within 90 days. More info you can find here.

Wifi and phones

The Quinta has wifi throughout the entire property, however it is not the best connection you’ve ever had. We are in the middle of a forest, and quite remote from the closest village so don’t expect top notch. Also please note that the signal from the bell tents will be less strong. But, you probably didn’t plan to spend this time and money to be on your phone all day anyways, so we highly recommend you to take a digital break as well.

food & allergies

All our meals are delicious and plant based. However, if you have any other dietary or allergy requests, we are happy to take these into account. Please note in advance and we will do our best to accommodate.

We highly recommend (but don't force) you to take a break from coffee, smoking and alcohol during the journey. There is no alcohol served (except for a good glass of local Portuguese wine on the last night) so any consumption would mean to bring your own and consume it only with discretion towards other guests. Smoking is not allowed on the venue's premises.

The Quinta is also the home of 2 big, but oh so friendly Shepherds and a cat. The animals will not come in your room, the kitchen or the yoga shala, but may be running around the other communal spaces of the Quinta. The owners love their animals, so we hope you do too!

coaching sessions

Included in your retreat is a 1-on-1 coaching session with Myrthe. This coaching session is an opportunity for you to dig in a little deeper in some of the things you would like to work on for yourself, related to lifestyle, wellbeing and mindset. After your booking you will receive a questionnaire with some questions around what your goals and intentions are for this retreat, in order to prepare better for our session and make the most out of it.

Yoga

You can expect to practice different styles of yoga. We believe that different styles offer different benefits. So throughout the retreat, you will experience stronger power vinyasa classes, slow flows, Hatha and more restorative practices like Yin. In addition, all practices will include some form of breathwork and/or Kundalini inspired work and meditation.

weather in portugal

Portugal’s climate is determined by the sea. September is a lovely time to visit Portugal. The dry and intense heat of the summer months has just ended, and the days are usually a lovely 20-25 °C with sun. The evenings can be a little bit more chilly. Because of its close proximity to the sea though, Portugal has quite some wind. So be prepared for several different weather conditions.
