I believe that a retreat can be so much more than ‘just’ an opportunity to relax and unwind. A retreat is also the perfect time to reconnect with yourself, nourish your body, mind and soul and initiate transformation. The society we live in is a very masculine and rational place, and we mostly live from the head. We have lost the deep connection with our bodies. But our bodies hold our emotions, our deepest desires for life and the answer to who we really are. It’s very easy to become disconnected from all that by just going with the flow and allowing society to dictate your life for you. Only once we reconnect with these deeper layers of ourselves and once we nourish our body, mind and soul, we can thrive in life.

This retreat offers you a safe space to dive deep within yourself

Sometimes we need space and permission from someone else to do this, because we simply can’t allow ourselves this deep selfcare. It seems ‘too much’ and we don’t deserve it. So that’s what I’ll do for you. I will create and hold space for your journey back towards yourself and I will give you full permission to nourish yourself on every level. Throughout this whole week, you are your priority no. 1. Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, nourishing meals, nature, massages, rest and good conversations, you will explore your lifestyle and your physical and mental health and reconnect with those deeper layers of yourself. You will find clarity on what you really want in this life and how to get there. And you will recognize and delete your own internal blocks that stop you from reaching these goals. You are the creator of your own life. No one else. On this retreat, I will help you experience again how it feels to be free, to take back control and to make decisions from your heart. Because you’re worth it.

Our retreat space

You will be staying in de Wierschuur, in Hippolytushoef, the Netherlands. This is a beautiful and tranquil monumental old farm, made into a luxury villa style group accommodation. It’s located in the middle of the Dutch ‘polder’, with sheep, cows, and endless corn and grass fields surrounding our private space. The sea is at a 10-minute bike ride, and the farm itself has plenty of space indoors and outdoors for you to relax, read a book by the fire or just chill in the garden.

You have 3 different room options to choose from, private queen, private single and shared. All rooms have comfortable beds, beautiful interiors, bedlinen and towels, a private bathroom with toilet, a desk for you to write in your journal and big windows to look outside into the garden and over the farm lands. They are a lovely space for you to retreat yourself from the group and to rest.

Next level nourishing, healthy food

The food we eat every day can be a medicine to nourish, strengthen and heal imbalances in your body and your brain. Therefore our private chef serves the most delicious, next level healthy, nourishing meals. Most of our products are locally sourced and organic. All meals are vegetarian, and many are vegan. Vegetables are the basis of every dish, but don’t be fooled! You won’t go hungry here and this isn’t rabbit style food. Your stomach is going to love our food! I believe that everybody and every body is different, so we will do our best to cater for most dietary restrictions or wishes you may have. But please confirm first before booking if the chef can work with your request. There are always snacks available for those who need some bites in between. We talk about the food you get served, explain the benefits and how we cook it, and in this way inspire you to try these dishes at home!

A day in the life of a retreat guest

Our schedule is diverse, to make sure you feel nourished in every possible way. So your day could look like this, but every day is different!

  • Wake up rested around 7.30AM for a cup of tea

  • Sunrise yoga practice at 8AM

  • Nourishing brunch at 9.30AM

  • 1:1 coaching session at 11AM (if you booked that)

  • Healthy lunch around 2PM

  • Life coaching workshop in the afternoon

  • Walking meditation at 5PM

  • Dinner at 7PM

  • Breathwork session in the evening

Myrthe van Gameren

Myrthe is an ex-corporate consultant, turned health coach and yoga teacher. She will guide you through the daily yoga classes and meditations, will facilitate the workshop and be your health & lifestyle coach. Myrthe is Dutch from origin, but has lived in Asia for 5 years, and now Portugal is home. She has a passion for dancing (90s hip hop does it), loves nature but is still a city girl and enjoys a good book.

What else you need to know

 
 
  • I speak both English and Dutch. All group activities will be facilitated in English. Individual coaching sessions can be in Dutch

  • Check-in time is 3.30PM on the Monday, check-out time is 10AM on the Friday

  • You are requested to arrange your own transport to the location. The farm is easily to be found with navigation and there is lots of parking space. If you choose to come by public transport, then please reach out to me directly and we will arrange a pickup from the nearest station at a small extra fee (station Den Oever or Anna Paulowna)

  • Special COVID-19 cancellation policy applies. In case the Dutch government decides we cannot meet as a group in our retreat venue:

    • 25% of your retreat price is charged if cancelled more than 30 days in advance

    • 50% of your retreat price is charged if cancelled less than 30 days in advance

    • The remaining balance will be reimbursed to you. This policy is there to protect you as my guest but also both me as retreat leader and the venue.

  • Standard terms and conditions around cancellations etc. you can find here.

  • If you have any dietary or allergy requests, we will do our very best to accommodate. Please inform us with your booking to confirm if your specific requests is possible for our chef to take into account

  • Keep in mind there is no alcohol served on the retreat and any consumption as well as smoking are not allowed

  • If you choose to book a 1:1 coaching session, then this is an opportunity for you to dig in a little deeper in some of the things you would like to work on for yourself, related to lifestyle, wellbeing and mindset. After your booking you will receive a questionnaire with some questions around what your goals and intentions are for this retreat, in order to prepare better for our session and make the most out of it

  • You can expect to practice different styles of yoga, from stronger power vinyasa classes, slow flows, Hatha and more restorative practices like Yin. In addition, all practices will include some form of breathwork and/or meditation

  • Linens & towels are provided in all rooms

  • The Netherlands wouldn’t be the Netherlands without ever-changing and unpredictable weather. So bring clothes for all types of weather and be prepared for rain! Fingers crossed for sun and blue skies though ;-)
